pendant lamp

This is the first lamp designed by Jan Garncarek. It references white weapons, which were a constant presence in the designer’s family home. The inspiration came from a childhood memory of staying at his grandfather’s house. One evening, the phone rang, revealing that a burglar alarm had gone off at a neighbor’s house, which automatically triggered such calls. Jan Garncarek’s grandfather then took out a sword (referred to as a flute) and went to confront the burglar, although the burglar escaped. The lamp is meant to evoke the image of a spear, a tool for self-defense in times of need. In fact, the elongated part of the lamp is not easily removable and serves more as a symbol.
