Inspired by the work of F. Herbert “Dune” this surreal lamp takes the form of a floating capsule or hull. Despite its substantial mass, it is crafted from an intricate brass structure, filled with sandblasted glass. Specially designed molds were created for this lamp at the Krosno Glassworks, the only glass factory in Poland capable of producing a shade of such size. The glass is carefully blown by a six-person team, ensuring precision and craftsmanship in every detail. The design evokes the vision of a world inhabited by large, heavy metal machines that float gracefully and move silently across a world we can shape and give meaning to. It captures the tension between the weight of the material and the lightness of movement, symbolizing the potential to turn an imagined world into reality. This lamp, like these machines, exists in a space where form, function, and imagination converge.
